Running with Nature in Hamsterley Forest!

Congratulations to all 222 of you who ran and finished at the Hamsterley Forest 10k event this past Sunday! You all were amazing and the weather permitted us a beautiful day for running, in the amazing venue that is Hamsterley Forest, sometimes there is no better feeling than running with nature!

The course was a tough, on undulating, multi-surface terrain that took runners along a scenic route on woodland paths and beautiful forest trails, where participants were rewarded with some of the most magnificent views in the North Pennine area. Every Participant should be extremely proud of themselves.

The winners of the Men’s 10k are as follows:

1st Place - Lee Thompson of Crook & Dist Sports AC. Time - 38:12

2nd Place - Marc Ellis of Quakers Running Club. Time - 39:28

3rd Place - Sam Beckett of Crook & Dist Sports AC. Time - 41:21

Each top 3 man got credit on their Run Nation accounts and first place got a trophy to take home and be proud of!

For the women’s 10k the winners were:

1st Place - Zoe Macdonald. Time - 42:50

2nd Place - Chloe Miller. Time - 47:24

Ultimately, everyone who ran the race did an amazing job, I would also like to personally thank all those who brought their old running shoes to the event for those in need in Kenya, you have made a massive difference to some young athlete's lives!

All should be so proud and we hope to see you again at the next Hamsterley event on the 14th of July 2024.

Thank you all!
